Spokesperson for Parliament’s Economic Committee: Some digital currency exchanges are under the supervision of the Central Bank

Golamreza Marhaba, a spokesman for parliament’s economic committee, said some local exchange offices operate under the supervision of the Central Bank and are licensed to buy and sell digital currency. He added that the ban on digital currencies would not work for the country.

According to Arzdigital Digital and quoting the Fars news agency, Golamreza Marhaba told reporters today that the systematization of cryptocurrencies is one of the emergencies in the country.

The origin, destination and exchange offices of the digital currency must be monitored, and the ban in this area is expertly ineffective. Therefore, this opportunity should be used to solve the country’s economic problems.

A spokesman for Parliament’s Economic Committee also announced parliament’s plan to draft a law on cryptocurrencies, adding:

Some exchange offices have the right to exchange cryptocurrencies under the supervision of the Central Bank, as this could help the country’s economic growth under sanctions.
